Our new Theatre School will run from September 2011 and will offer a fantastic range of drama programmes from children to adults.
The Lyric Theatre School has been established to offer accessible creative pathways to children and adults from all backgrounds and abilities on a first come, first served basis. The quality of provision is about participation and access to arts training that allows individuals to work at their own pace and develop skills to a level that suits their needs and expectations.
Clearly talent will rise to the surface and some individuals will be using their training with us as a foundation for more dedicated training. For others the journey is about awakening the creative imagination – participating in a fun and structured artistic environment, developing a range of creative and communication skills and preparing for life as a confident citizen where the arts is embedded as a passionate leisure activity.
Early Years drama provision is clearly based on fun activities around imaginative play, but where individuals continue their training through the school, the focus and range of activity will be based around individual skills building as a creative performer.
The Lyric Theatre School requires a weekly commitment, either across one term or ideally across a full year comprising three terms.
