Theatre Training

Drama Studio performing at Ormeau Baths Gallery

The Creative Learning department is devising a series of Actor Training Workshops and programmes.

Drama Studio (professional training for 18 to 24 year olds)

The Drama Studio aims to develop young actors who are serious about becoming professional actors.

The programme is led by Anna Newell who is the Artistic Director for the Centre for Excellence in the Creative and Performing Arts, Queen's University.

Previous 2010 projects

Our young actors constructed an original performance piece based around themes and visuals from, and responses to the "Lives of Spaces" exhibition in Ormeau Baths Gallery, which was Ireland's 2008 participation in the Venice Architecture Biennale.

Drama studio members were involved in a two-day adventure with the Centre for Excellence in the Creative and Performing Art at Queen's where they worked with students from Queen's to create a performance installation in the old Queen's Street Police Station. This performance was hosted by Platform Arts.
