Sean O’Casey’s masterpiece The Shadow of a Gunman has long been seen as an established national treasure.  In this vibrant and poignant classic comedy, Donal Davoren wrestles with his poetry as he struggles to find peace in a crowded Dublin tenement. Outside, Ireland descends into a vicious guerrilla war.

This new production - the first Gunman at the Lyric for 10 years - is directed by Wayne Jordan and stars award-winning Mark O’Halloran (Adam and Paul, Calvary), Amy McAllister (Philomena) and Dan Gordon (Give My Head Peace, A Night in November), who returns to the Lyric for the first time since directing Mistletoe and Crime.
